This Privacy Policy explains how RideGY (“RideGY”, “we”, “us”), operated by RideGY Inc., collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use the RideGY mobile apps and website (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Information we collect

We collect the information needed to connect riders with drivers and run the Service safely.

Account information — your name, email address, and phone number when you create an account.
Location information — precise location from your device. For riders, while you set a pickup, request, and take a trip. For drivers, while you are online and on a trip (including in the background during an active trip, so your rider can see your approach). You control this through your device’s location permissions.
Trip information — pickup and drop-off points, routes, times, fares, ratings, and trip history.
Payment information — your selected payment method (cash, mobile money, or card) and transaction records. Card payments are processed by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers.
Communications — in-app messages between riders and drivers, support requests, and reports you submit.
Device and usage data — device identifiers, app version, push-notification tokens, and diagnostic/crash data used to keep the app working.
Driver application data — for drivers, vehicle details and any documents you provide for review.

How we use your information

Match riders with nearby drivers and provide navigation, ETAs, and live trip tracking.
Calculate fares and process payments.
Keep trips safe — pickup PIN verification, share-my-trip, ratings, and fraud and abuse prevention.
Provide customer support and respond to reports.
Send service-related notifications (for example, ride status and account updates).
Maintain, secure, and improve the Service.
Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run the Service:

Between riders and drivers — to complete a trip, each party sees limited information about the other (such as first name, photo, rating, vehicle details, and live location during the trip). Your full contact details are not shared.
Service providers — companies that help us operate the Service, including mapping and routing, payment processing, authentication, hosting, and error monitoring. They may process your information only on our instructions.
Legal and safety — when required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of users, drivers, the public, or RideGY.
Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.

Location information

Location is central to a ride-share. Riders share location while booking and during a trip; drivers share location while online and during an active trip, including in the background so riders can track the approach. You can turn off location access in your device settings, but core features will not work without it.

Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal and tax obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You can request deletion of your account as described below.

Security

We use technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your data and limit access to it.

Your choices and rights

Access and correction — view and update your profile information in the app.
Deletion — request deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting us.
Location — control location access through your device settings.
Notifications — manage push notifications in your device settings.

Children

The Service is intended for adults. It is not directed to children, and you must be at least 18 years old to use RideGY.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
